I can't breaff!!

Last night I worked out with my personal trainer. Usually both my husband and I go together and "buddy train". But Rick had a tooth pulled and can't workout until next Monday - forcing me to go "get healthy" alone last night.

Don't get me wrong. I LOVE working out and having a personal trainer is GREAT. Especially ours - Evelio. He's super nice and I feel like he really pushes me. However let me explain about buddy training versus solo training. When both of us are there to workout Evelio has to split his time between us. Therefore he isn't watching me like a hawk 100% of the time. When just one of us goes - HAWK all the way! This is bad. When Rick's there and I am on my 3 set of bench squats with weights doing simultaneous shoulder presses I don't have to go all the way down, I can fudge it a little and give my crying thigh muscles a much needed reprieve whilst I sacrifice Rick to Evelio's watchful eye.

This was NOT the case last night. We started the workout with squats, apparently I wasn't going low enough from him, although I PERSONALLY thought I was plenty low - we tend to disagree on this point often, so mid set he changed them to bench squats. Same when I went to the next exercise of sumo squats, not low enough hit the bench (explanation for those not familiar: bench squats are where you have to lower yourself so that your bum hits the top of the workout bench and then go directly back up - NO resting on the bench. Side note does anyone else notice that you only have to change 2 letters in bench to make it say bitch? Coincident? I think NOT!).

By the end of the first circuit I thought I was dying! Evelio thought this was HILARIOUS and decided that after the first circuit of 3 sets we'd do abs. Now I love crunches as much as the next person but let me reiterate "I CAN'T BREAFF!!" 3 set of abs, doing 30 seconds on 4 different exercising - NEVER STOPPING. My body thought I had declared a war against it! Luckily on the end of the last set - his girlfriend came in and his attention was momentarily taken off of my air sucking, lifeless, muscle crying body.

Since I am writing this I guess you're able to tell I did survive. I am only mildly sore even though yesterday I was convinced I would be unable to walk, move my arms or breath today. I told Evelio yesterday he was getting written up about in my blog, he just laughed. Quick plug for our training facility. We go to S&B Elite http://www.sbelite.com/ . And I can not sing their praises enough. Not only is Evelio WONDERFUL but so are all the other trainers there. They're all very friendly and helpful and couldn't make you feel better about sweating your arse off! Check them out for all your personal training needs!
